Welcome to www.johnogroatscrafts.com.  By using this website, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Sale, which constitutes the entire agreement between us.

The Terms and Conditions of sale govern the sale of goods by us, John O’Groats Crafts Ltd to you, the customer, by telephone, e-mail and via our website at www.johnogroatscrafts.com and will form the basis of any contract of sale between us.  Please read them carefully before placing an order as you will be deemed to be bound by them.

The Contract Between Us

Your orders are an offer to purchase goods from us.  We will confirm receipt and acceptance of your order by sending you an email summarising the details of your order – this is the point at which we accept your order and the contract is formed (subject to these Terms and Conditions).  If we cannot accept your order, we will notify you.

Goods

We have made every effort to ensure that the goods displayed on our website

conform to the descriptions and photographs.  The colour specification, dimensions, and description of items on our website are quoted as accurately as possible.  Please note that all images are for illustration purposes only.  The colour you see will depend on the resolution of your monitor and we therefore cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of the colours accurately reflects the colour of the item delivered. We reserve the right from time to time to vary the dimensions, specifications, descriptions and quantities of items displayed on our website without prior notice.

Age Restrictions

Some of the products available for sale on our website (such as alcohol) are age-restricted and you must not purchase those products if you are below the required age.  Information on whether a product is age-restricted and the minimum age requirement is available on the relevant product page.  By placing an order for an age-restricted product, you are confirming that both you and the recipient are of the requisite age.

Prices

Products are displayed with prices in GBP sterling (or converted to a local currency where selected) at the time of your order.  Prices displayed on the website include Value Added Tax which will be applied at the current rate where applicable.  Prices may be subject to variation without notice.  If there is a pricing error on our website, we will contact you as soon as possible.  You will have the option of reconfirming your order at the revised price or cancelling your order and receiving a refund. If we are unable to reach you, your order for the incorrectly priced item will be cancelled, and we are not obliged to honour such orders.

Please note that any import Duty or Local Taxes will be the responsibility of the Purchaser.

Processing Your Order

Delivery costs are calculated at the checkout based on your delivery country.  Subject to availability we aim to despatch orders within five working days (Monday to Friday), and we have no queries that require us to contact you by e-mail to resolve.  We try to keep the stock availability as up-to-date as possible but there may be occasions when we have sold out of items that are showing as available on the website, in which case, if possible, a substitute will be offered to the Customer.  If this does not suit the Customer a credit payment will be applied.  Please allow 28 days for the delivery of your order.  We will send you a confirmation e-mail when your order has been dispatched.

Payment

All payments for goods must be made when the order is placed.  We will not reserve or despatch goods before payment is received.  We accept payment by any major credit or debit card, American Express and PayPal but cannot accept cheques or cash as payments for online or telephone orders.

Right to Cancel and Return Purchases

You have the right to cancel your order made online or over the telephone within a ‘cooling off’ period of 14 days from the day after you receive the goods.  This right applies to all items except:

  • Jewellery for pierced ears
  • Sealed items where the seal has been broken
  • Personalised or bespoke items

If you wish to cancel your order or return a purchase, please e-mail sales@johnogroatscrafts.co.uk or call us on 01955 611741 with the order number quoted on the delivery note.  Please note that returning the goods to us is your responsibility and we are not obliged to repay you any costs that you have incurred in returning the products to us.  You will receive a refund of the original cost of the returned goods to your credit/debit card or PayPal account within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods.

Item Which Are Damaged in Transit, Defective or Incorrect

If goods being delivered to you have been damaged in transit, are defective, or include incorrect goods, you must notify us promptly.  We will at your option either exchange or repair these items without charge to you, or provide you with a full refund. It is your responsibility to ensure that the items being returned are adequately wrapped. We will check the items on return, and we may request proof of purchase and/or photos of the damage and packaging in order to enable us to investigate the matter further.

DATA Protection

We respect your privacy.  The personal information that you give us is held with care and security.  We will not sell, rent or transfer this information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

John O’ Groats Crafts Ltd will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the details relating to you, your order and your payment are kept secure in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.
